Every time the driver depresses the brake pedal, Brake Plus will cause the lamp to rapidly pulse (not blink, flash, or strobe) 4 times and then remain solid. This helps alert trailing drivers that the vehicle is stopping, and, according to NHTSA, pulsing 3rd brake lights can reduce the risk of being rear-ended by up to 50%.

The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 USC 2302(C)) states that, “Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle.” The only pieces of equipment affected by Brake Plus are light bulbs.
